Stas has worked with the same company for more than 10 years, on a permanent contract with a firm based in Hong Kong. He is a mobile developer, a conference speaker and a team lead, and he founded the R Founders Barcelona community.

Our story

How we came to Barcelona

We moved to Barcelona 2.5 years ago on a Digital Nomad Visa, and we pay our taxes here on time. Stas is from Moldova and holds a Romanian (EU) passport. Our children hold both Moldovan and Romanian passports.

Our current home

We have rented the same flat for 2.5 years and always paid €2,210 a month on time. We are only moving because our landlords need the flat back for themselves — it is not our choice. They have written us a reference letter, and you are welcome to speak with them directly: they will confirm we are great tenants. We are happy to sign a long-term contract.

Masha — the heart of our home

Masha is active and sporty, and she gives herself fully to the children — she adores them and is raising them with great care. She is a nutritionist and cooks delicious, healthy food for the family. She is also building her own startup, aipaplate, a popular free nutrition app.

We can comfortably cover the rent

Stas has a stable, multi-year international contract, and our income is confirmed by our official annual tax declarations. We show our declared annual income below and keep the month-by-month contract figure private here — we are glad to share the full picture with you directly.

Together with our savings — all of which we can prove with documents — our real ability to pay is well above the rent, and we can draw on more if needed.
